Course Summary: This day seeks to give an overview of Maya history and key elements that could be taught within a topic. Elements of the day plan to establish who the Maya are and where they come from; outline the development the Maya and summarise key facts; look at why 900AD might be considered significant; compare Maya and British Chronology. Have a look at practical activities on writing, settlements and homes. How do we know – early and current evidence? Fun ideas for the classroom and consideration of some printed resources. If time, plan a unit of work.
