Course Summary: Look at a range of objects and how they throw light on the past. Consider how to use objects to enable children to learn about people from the past. Outline the difference between observed facts and derived opinions. Examine ways of recording notes that help children develop historical arguments. Look at the progression of sub skills needed to facilitate children’s historical understanding. If time, create a skills progression for an object related to your own historical topic.
